Teeze was born and raised on the moon Pantora in the Outer Rim. She is an only child. Her parents were both hard workers and never really made time for her growing up. Since young, Teeze focused on her studies, seeing as that was the only thing that her parents approved of and noticed. She became rather dependent on academic validation. She went on to study medicine, a great achievement in her parents' eyes. She was the first one to get a higher education in her family. Her parents aren't bad people, but simple and they could never provide her with more than the necessary.
While going through years at university in Pantoran City - their capital, Teeze learned to be independent and barely spoke to her parents. Her studies and the part-time jobs she needed to keep herself there made her a rather busy person. She didn't have much time for friends or dating, never seeing it as very important. She was close with her roommate and a couple of people that she shared most of her classes with, but no best friend or anybody super close. Teeze was pretty much used to that from growing up. Always her against the world - alone. But as an introvert, she was always okay with that.
Once she got her degree and became a doctor, she started working at one of the hospitals in the capital, but once she learned how deep the corruption ran, she decided she couldn't stay there. It was horrible seeing how the hospital stripped people in need of all their money. Instead, she relocated and found a new job in a much smaller town and a much smaller hospital. Life there was quieter and easier. Her colleagues were alright. It wasn't so small that she would stick out.
Years went on fine, the Clone Wars barely touched the people in her town or Teeze herself. For a brief moment, she considered joining the fight, they could surely use another doctor, but it was hard parting with the life she had built for herself and she ended up staying.
After some political and historical events on Orto Plutonia, a GAR ship was about to fly back to wherever they went to after assignments, they had some kind of technical error and needed to do an emergency landing and crashed. A clone was transported to their only hospital in critical condition. The rest of his squad were alright and after their scrapes and bruises were treated, they had to leave for another assignment, not given any time to rest.
That one clone, Gate, as his comrades called him, had to be left behind until he recovered enough to be safely moved. When he woke up, Gate was exhibiting some odd behaviour. What his friends said about him, there was none of it. He was supposed to be a pretty cheery guy who would talk your ear off and probably trip over something every other day, hence how he got his name, apparently. But when he woke up, he barely spoke, like he had no personality whatsoever. Teeze feared it was brain trauma and something connected to it.
When one of the other long-term patients, an elderly man who came to talk with Gate regularly, showed him a holo of the Jedi general Gate had served, Gate went ballistic. They had to sedate him. Worried about him, Teeze did many brain scans and they found something there. Some kind of chip. They tried asking Gate about it but he didn't answer them. All he could talk about was how he had to kill the Jedi. They did not alert anybody from the Republic, something was clearly not right with Gate. His injury, however, made the chip send signals into his brain like it probably shouldn't. Teeze studied the chip and what it did, and figured it was damaged somehow. When explained that it could kill him, Gate eventually agreed to the surgery.
Before they could plan it, however, a Republic representative came to ask about Gate. A Kaminoan woman who had way too many questions and wanted to see all scans. Teeze asked her about the chip. She was persistent and didn't get that much information but learned that it was supposed to modify behavior. Teeze thought it did far more than that from what she had seen. A day later, they removed the chip from Gate's head, but it was no ordinary surgery. Only she, Tevey and two other nurses were present to assist her. It happened in the middle of the night and she told them that if anyone asked, she forced them to help by threatening to fire them. In reality, she had told them that this chip was dangerous and that none of them should have learned about it, but they could still save Gate. So they did.
Tevey took Gate with him and helped him get out of the planet. A day later, more Kaminoans showed up, with a transfer signed by the Chancellor. Gate was a war hero and would be awarded the best care. Teeze told them that Gate had been behaving erratically and fled from the hospital on his own and that they had been unable to find him.
Teeze was questioned about the disappearance of her patient but managed to keep it vague. Things took a slide soon after.
The nurse who had wiped the camera footage after the surgery was discovered and blamed for kidnapping Gate. She was arrested. Teeze knew that she would blame her and so she fled Pantora immediately after emptying her bank account. And as she had told them to do, the nurse blamed it on her. Two days later the other nurse who was responsible for destroying the chip was found dead, a fatal shuttle accident.
There is a bounty on her head, the highest of all those involved in the events. She is on the run now.
